CMDrive Project, coordinated by Inesco Ingenieros, seeks to develop a low-cost condition monitoring system for wind turbines by using acoustic principles.
The rotating components are monitored through the airborne emissions that are detected by a microphone and digitized and processed by a processing unit developed within the project.
The main advantages of this solution are a significant lower cost that current condition monitoring systems and the fact that it is completely non-intrusive because there is no contact with the machinery.
