The bulgeONE project consists in the development of a predictive tool capable to determine in real time the level of strain or bulging degree of a coker drum based on data from the skin points (thermal sensors) installed in it.
The degree of bulging is the critical parameter that determines the remaining life of a coker drum in a refinery. Currently, there are no predictive tools that allow to estimate the useful life of coker drums without performing a maintenance shutdown aiming to measure the existing bulging by using a laser scanner system.
bulgeONE is presented as a unique evaluation tool, reducing maintenance costs, saving time and increasing the safety of the coking process.
